Abstract
This paper describes the views of a young prospective mathematics teacher as he constructs and uses a WebQuest for teaching statistics concepts to 7th grade pupils. Using data collected through semi-structured interviews, we look into his views of the whole process, of how it affected his pupils' learning, and how it relates to his perspectives on mathematics teaching and learning. This student teacher quickly accepted the idea that this might be an interesting way to use the Internet with his pupils. The results achieved by his pupils reinforced his previous perspectives of the WebQuest as a teaching tool. The whole process was facilitated by student teachers' collaboration and discussion. These findings seem to indicate that teaching practice can be a good opportunity for promoting innovation, particularly as far as ICT is concerned.views of mathematics teaching and learning.
