Abstract

E-learning is applied in different ways across the globe. The digital divide implies wide-ranging divisions. The division seems somewhat diffuse, however. This paper elaborates on a number of divergent findings of a study I conducted on selected student cohorts’ experience of an English Second Language (ESL) computer programme. The case study utilised a mixed methodology, incorporating semi-structured interviews, a Likert-type questionnaire as well as selected document review. I juxtapose salient findings from the interviews with pertinent, albeit opposing findings, particularly those derived from perusing certain records as well as a Likert-type questionnaire. I point towards data, findings and conclusions that may seem mutually exclusive and deviate in a surprisingly great number of ways.
