Abstract

The presentation will share ideas on including appropriately educational technology into multicultural counseling courses to improve students’ multicultural counseling and social justice advocacy competencies. It is based on a current project that uses online communication and collaboration in a graduate level multicultural counseling course. It will provide information on the needs of future school counselors, their exposure to and experience with available technology, and the opportunities for utilization of technology in courses to design coursework, student assignments. The presentation will aim to support the development of understanding and appreciation for the role of technology in counseling training for the 21st century.
